Good afternoon Families!
You will soon receive your child's scores for the PM 1 FAST State Test along with an explanation of what the scores mean. Please keep in mind that this is the first assessment of the new grade level. Our goal is to review the results and with you and ensure you have the tools to support your child's learning at home.
Achievement Levels:
Level 1: Well Below Grade Level
Leve 2: Below Grade Level
Level 3: On Grade Level
Level 4: Proficient Success
Level 5: Exemplary Success
How can you support at home?
*Establish a routine: Set aside a regular time and quiet space for reading, homework and review.
*Attendance: Ensure students are present each day, on time to school, and stay the entire school day.
*Completion of homework: Homework is an extension of what students are working on in class.
*Fluency Practice: Ensure students are reading independently daily( K-2: 10-20 minutes & 3rd-5th 20-30 minutes each night); have students practice their math facts (addition, subtraction and multiplication).
*Ask Questions: Talk about what they learned at school and encourage them to explain ideas in their own words.
*Encourage writing: Have them keep a journal, write letters, create stories, or write in response to what they read.
*Stay connected: Communicate with teachers and attend school events to stay informed about your child's progress. Are you connected to Focus to check your student's grade? Check Rooms for updates from the school and teachers.
*Celebrate effort: Praise persistence and progress, not just results.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring your child's success!

We are celebrating World Heart Day by wearing red or heart attire.
World Heart Day, held annually on 29 September, is a global campaign led by the World Heart Federation (WHF) to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease (CVD)—the world’s leading cause of death. The idea was first introduced by WHF President Dr. Antoni Bayés de Luna during his tenure and launched in 1999 with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNESCO. The first official World Heart Day was celebrated in 2000, coinciding with the Sydney Olympic Games, with the inaugural slogan “Let it Beat,” emphasizing the importance of physical activity in preventing heart disease and stroke.

Good Evening Venetia Families!
We will Celebrate Freedom Week with themed days each day. Flyers were sent last week in the Tuesday Folder. We kick off the week wearing red, white & blue: Proud to be an American!

We have URGENT information about Bus 243.
Due to unforeseen contracting issues, bus services for certain schools, including ours, may experience delays on the morning of Tuesday, August 19, 2025. To help ensure students arrive at school on time, parents are strongly encouraged to make alternative transportation arrangements.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are working diligently to resolve the matter as quickly as possible. We appreciate your understanding and partnership in supporting the safe and timely arrival of all students.
Have a great evening!
