Good evening, Mustang Families!
We hope you have had a wonderful weekend! We are incredibly proud of how well our students are learning and following the rituals, routines, and expectations of our school. Now, we are asking our Mustang adults to help us model those same expectations.
As we begin another week, please help us keep arrival and dismissal safe, respectful, and efficient for everyone:
Arrive on time and be patient and considerate of your fellow Mustang families.
Take turns and allow cars to merge when needed. A little kindness goes a long way!
Please never block the crosswalks. We have students and families crossing from Liberty Square, and they need a clear and safe path at all times.
Drive slowly and cautiously while on school property. Students may be walking or riding bikes throughout our campus.
Put cell phones down while driving on campus. Everyone’s full attention is needed to keep our students safe.
We also ask families to remember that our school campus is a professional environment. Just as we ask our students to follow a dress code, we ask adults visiting campus to dress appropriately for school business. Shirts and shoes are required, and robes, pj's or swimwear are not appropriate attire for entering the school.
Finally, our campus is tobacco- and vape-free. Please do not smoke or vape on school property. Even when used before entering the building, the odor can linger on clothing and impact others inside our school.
Our students are always watching and learning from the adults around them. Let’s show them what it means to be patient, respectful, responsible, and proud to be a Mustang.
ALL means ALL—and Mustang Pride starts with each of us!
Thank you for helping us keep Chaffee Trail safe, welcoming, and respectful for everyone!

Dear Mustang families,
Every election is important, but the 2026 upcoming general election is very important to our teachers, students, and schools.
Why the 2026 Election is Important to Our School
Four years ago, voters approved a voluntary 1-mill property assessment to support salary enhancements for our teachers and staff, as well as providing a dedicated funding source for arts and athletics for students. Under state law, this funding source must be renewed every four years.
Our Goals is to Help You Be Informed
Over the next several weeks, we will share information with you through our social media and email to ensure that you are fully informed as you go to the polls. Attached is a flier with basic information about the continuation of the 1 mill. We encourage you to take just a minute to review this information. You can also learn more at www.DuvalSchools.org/Vote.
What You Can Do Now
Most important, we encourage you to participate in the election and let your voice be heard on this issue. If you need to register to vote, you can do so at Florida Online Voter Registration System.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to be informed on this issue, and we encourage you to check out our website or ask me if you have any questions.

Good evening, Mustang families! This is Principal Doyle with your weekly update for the week of August 24th.
We are looking forward to another great week at Chaffee Trail!
OPEN HOUSE IS TUESDAY EVENING!
To help with parking and crowding, we will have two sessions based on your student’s last name:
A–L: 6:00–6:45 p.m.
M–Z: 7:00–7:45 p.m.
Please attend the session that corresponds with your child’s last name. Our PTA will also present its annual budget at 5:45 p.m. We hope to see you there!
Kona Ice, About Time food truck and Bad Chic Food truck will be here for open house.
We kicked off our annual school wide Fundraiser Otis Spunkmeyer, Friday. Students brought home all the info in their backpacks. Please help us raise money for student incentives and family events.
We will continue state testing this week, so please make sure students arrive at school on time each day, well rested and ready to do their best.
Important reminder about dismissal:
Transportation changes will NOT be accepted through the Front Office after 12:00 noon. Parents may make changes directly through PikMyKid until 2:00 p.m.
Please establish consistent dismissal arrangements rather than making frequent changes. This helps prevent confusion and, most importantly, keeps our students safe.
Dismissal ends at 3:10 p.m. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up by that time.
Have a wonderful week, Mustangs! We look forward to seeing everyone at Open House Tuesday evening. 💙🐴
