We have a limited number of extra yearbooks. If you would like one, please send in $25 (cash, exact change). They may be purchased from Mrs. Tibbits.

Scoop and Swirl Italian Ice will be at Ortega Elementary this Friday, May 15, during Play Day. Students may bring in $5 to get a yummy treat. See the flyer for more details.
Also, we still need donations of water for Play Day. The 8 oz bottles are preferred but we will accept any size.

We need donations of cases of the 8 oz water bottles. If you can help we would greatly appreciate it. Play Day will be held on Friday, May 15 so please drop off donations in car line or in the front office by Friday morning. Thank you!

I am writing to remind you of the district’s policy regarding late pick-ups. Students must be picked up by dismissal time, which is no later than 3:10pm. If you arrive late, you will need to come into the office and sign your student(s) out. Please note that the school will be monitoring late pick-ups. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and efficient dismissal process for all students.
Also, please do not drop off your student(s) at the gate after 8:30am unless you are supervising them. In accordance with district policy, if your student arrives late, please come into the office to sign them in.

Mark your calendars for Friday, April 10 at 9:15 AM. Ortega Elementary will be having its Title 1 Developmental Meeting. This is your chance to give your input as we begin planning for the 2026-2027 school year.

This is just a reminder that we will be having the State Writing Test this Wednesday, April 1st, for 4th and 5th grade. Please be sure students are well rested and arrive at school by 9:00am at the latest so they can participate in the test.

Ms. Mcleod has been working so hard on putting our yearbook together.  It was submitted to the company this week and the sneak peek looks AMAZING!!  We have only ordered a limited quantity so if you don't want to be left out make sure to place your order today.  Yearbooks will be arriving in May.  Place your order online at www.buytheyearbook.com using ID 387388.  

There are only a few days left in the PTA membership contest.  Remember, the contest ends at the end of March.  The top 3 classes will win a party courtesy of PTA.  The current standings are below, but all classes are close.  So no one is out of the running yet.  The cost is $7 per family and money raised is used to help pay for end-of-year awards, teacher appreciation, campus beautification, and academic programs.  You can join using the form sent home or online at
