Patriot News Headline

Dear parents and guardians,

Happy Saturday Patriots! Our cadets are doing so well on the state assessments. ELA and Math have all made gains from last year. We will be doing more testing this week for our ELL’s and 504 cadets. Let’s finish strong!!!! This is our last full week of school, and it is a remarkably busy one.

No backpacks/purses/jackets – Starting tomorrow, cadets need to leave their backpacks and jackets at home. This is out of an abundance of safety as we close out the school year. Cadets can keep their phones in their pants pockets, but they must be turned off during the school day.

Yearbooks – We still have yearbooks to sell for $45 cash or money order. Ms. McNally will be selling them in the mess hall in the morning and at lunch. If you purchased one online, they were given out on Friday to your cadet. If your cadet did not receive his or hers, please have them see Ms. McNally.

Memorial Day Ceremony - This Thursday at 10am on the track. The honorable Charlotte Joyce, our school board member and chair of the Duval County Public Schools School Board will be our guest speaker. She has been a longtime advocate for JSMAL. She used to teach here and one of her sons came through here for his middle school years. Everyone is invited to come.

Summer Camp - Our summer camp program is scheduled to run from June 8 through July 17, operating Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is a free summer program. I am attaching two flyers: one for rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders and one for our rising 9th graders.
