Patriot News Headline

Dear parents and guardians,

Happy Monday Patriots! I hope everyone had a Happy Easter Break! We are back at school on Wednesday, April 8 for a truly short week. We have finished the State Writing Assessment. Make-up testing will be this week, Wednesday through Friday. I want to take a moment to remind my parents/guardians who drop off their cadets in the morning. If you arrive after 8am, please look for the yellow buses before driving along the main office road. Several of you have gotten stuck behind the buses. The buses out front are our ESE buses, and they take a while to unload each one. Some of them have cadets in wheelchairs and it is not a quick process. If you see buses in the main office loop, simply drop your cadet off on Burma Road in front of the school. There is a safe walkway to the front office or to formation.

Military Ball – We have moved the date to April 24 due to the small number of tickets sold. I do apologize for the late notice, but we just approval today, from the Riverside Garden Club to move the date.

8th graders – Promotion dues are $40 and must be paid via schoolcashonline.com. Promotion items include: A JSMAL stole, promotion certificate, and a school cord.

8th graders - The deadline is approaching for FREE ECG screenings for our student athletes. This is a terrific opportunity to get your 8th graders scheduled for this new requirement by the state of Florida. This is extremely important for the health of our student athletes and will be required by state law for all incoming freshmen on the high school level. These school-based screenings are important to help prepare our students for high school sports. Our date will be April 14 from 1:30 – 3:15pm here at JSMAL. Register NLT noon April 13.

Yearbook – They are in and absolutely beautiful! They are full of great pictures of our cadets and all the events that happen throughout the school year. YES, they have a hard cover. We will not be issuing out the yearbooks until the last week of school. There are still some available and we will sell them on a first-come, first-served basis. You can bring cash or money order to the front office. Cost is $45. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Ms. McNally at ortong@duvalschools.org.

Lost and Found – If your cadet has lost items at school, please encourage them to look through our lost and found items in the mess hall (Cafeteria). It has grown and we need to get the items picked up.
