Happy Sunday Patriots! What a fantastic Jaguars win today. They beat the snot out of those Colts. It was a beautiful win, even in the rain. Now we lead the division. Woo Hoo! Go Jaguars! Winter Break is quickly approaching. That means the end of the second quarter is also around the corner. Please do your best to get your cadets to school every day. Our average daily attendance is up 4% from this time last year. Regular attendance in school is a critical indicator of how well cadets will do in high school and beyond.
Canned food drive – SGA is organizing a food drive. Please scrub your pantries for any unwanted cans or nonperishable food items. We will continue this drive through December 17.

Cheerleading for BBall season – Tryouts will be after school on Wednesday through Friday after school in room 44. You must have your sports physical and a GPA over 2.0. Email Ms. Wilson if you have any questions. wilsons5@duvalschools.org
Movie Night at JSMAL – Parents and guardians…we have a Title I parent engagement night planned for you and your cadet on December 11 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm in the gym and mess hall. We will provide dinner and snacks, and parents are required to attend with their cadets. Cadets may not hang around after school unsupervised, waiting for this event. They must go home first or go to team up if they are enrolled. Movie in the gym for cadets, parent night in the mess hall with food and Q&A with your principal and Assistant Principal. Come join the fun and bring all your cadets’ siblings.
8th Grade Gradventure - The 8th-grade end-of-the-year field trip is GRADVENTURE in Orlando, Florida, on May 1, 2026. Gradventure is two theme parks in one night- Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The time is from 1 pm on Friday to 3 am on Saturday morning. Cost: $252.00 dollars. We are taking the first 75 students that pay! The cost includes admission into Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure, lunch voucher, refillable souvenir cup, JSMAL Gradventure T-shirt, and charter bus transportation. The requirements to participate in Gradventure: Dean Bledsoe MUST clear the student to participate. The DUE DATE for payment: MARCH 31, 2026. PAY WITH CASH, CASHIER CHECK OR MONEY ORDER TO COACH THOMPSON. If interested in paying in installments, please contact Coach Thompson. Both permission slips must be turned in to Coach Thompson.
