Bus Registration
We want to provide a safe and orderly environment for all students on our buses. That’s why all students must be registered for transportation each year before riding the bus! This also includes students in a self-contained ESE program.
Bus registration for 2026-27 is NOW OPEN. Just follow the directions below.
Note: You must have a Linked Parent Account in order to register for a bus.
1. Log in to the parent/guardian Focus account and select your child’s name.
2. Select Child Info.
3. Select Forms.
4. Select 2026-27 Transportation Registration Form.
5. Review address. Note that the primary address is used to determine the bus assignment.
If the address is correct: Go to “I am requesting bus stop transportation for my student” and select Yes. If the address is incorrect: Contact your child’s school to update before proceeding.
6. Click Submit Request.
Repeat these steps for any additional students in the family.
Students in a self-contained ESE program must also be registered for bus transportation. The registration steps are the same, but you must also complete the section labeled: ONLY Complete this section if your student is in a Self-contained ESE Program.

I hope our Stellar Scholars are making amazing memories with family and friends, exploring new adventures, enjoying the sunshine, and most importantly reading a good book or two along the way! I promised myself I wouldn't overwhelm you with school information during summer break, but I did want to pop in with a quick check-in and a few updates for you to be on the lookout for.

One thing we definitely do not want is summer learning loss. Next week, we will be sharing details about our BELA Summer Reading Challenge! The challenge will include both reading and vocabulary activities to help our scholars keep their minds sharp while still having plenty of summer fun. We are excited to make learning engaging, rewarding, and STELLAR!

Good afternoon STELLAR 5th Grade Families,
If your child attended the 5th grade field trip today, we want to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment experienced during our visit to Wild Adventures. Due to technical issues at the park, students were unfortunately not able to ride the rides as planned.
However, students were still able to enjoy exploring the zoo, animal exhibits, and participate in several interactive activities with the animals throughout the day. Wild Adventures has informed us that all students who participated in the trip will receive complimentary tickets due to the inconvenience. We are currently headed back to campus now. Once students arrive, we plan to allow them to enjoy kickball, football, and additional recreational activities until 5:30 PM. We will also provide pizza and drinks for all students. Please be on the lookout for further communication regarding a partial refund for the trip during the second week of June.
Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and grace as we worked through circumstances beyond our control. We truly appreciate your continued support and partnership.

Important updates for this week. Tomorrow is our 2nd day of State Testing for 3rd-5th grade. It is very important students get a good night rest, are present and on time for school tomorrow. We have set a calm, safe, encouraging atmosphere for students to do their best on the test. We are looking forward to celebrating all of our student's success at the end of the month. Tomorrow also begins a week-long celebration of our Stellar Teachers. Each day students are encouraged to celebrate their teachers with a loving gesture. See the attached image for ideas. We are looking forward to another STELLAR week at BELA.

I hope this message finds you well and filled with excitement as we approach an important milestone in our school year.
First, testing season begins tomorrow. It is vital that our students get a good night’s rest, eat a hearty breakfast, arrive on time, and start their morning surrounded by positivity and encouragement. We have worked incredibly hard all year, and now it is time to show the state of Florida just how Stellar we truly are. Our students are well-prepared and ready to demonstrate mastery on all of their assessments. When they enter the building tomorrow, they will walk into an atmosphere intentionally designed for success. We believe in their greatness, and we are confident in their ability to shine. Together, we are ready to earn our “A”!
Secondly, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to each family who took the time to acknowledge me with tokens of appreciation during Principal Appreciation Week. Your kind words, gestures, gifts, and support truly mean more than I can express. While this work can be challenging, it is incredibly rewarding because I have the honor of serving the most amazing, brilliant students and the very best families.

Hello Biscayne Elementary School families, this is Principal McBride calling. It is always disappointing to contact you about a situation in which a student has made a very bad decision, and unfortunately, this is one of those moments.
This afternoon, we safely confiscated a loaded firearm from a student. We became aware of the prohibited item after receiving reports from multiple students who heard a student had a it in his possession. At no time were any threats made toward students or staff, and the firearm was secured without incident.
Law enforcement and DCF are on campus investigating this incident. In addition to potential criminal charges, we will also pursue the appropriate school disciplinary consequences.
While I am very disappointed in this student’s actions, I am also grateful to the students who immediately reported what they saw. Our “See Something, Say Something” message remains one of our best tools in identifying safety concerns. Today’s unfortunate incident is a clear example of why it matters.
Parents - We ask that you partner with us in keeping children safe by monitoring their belongings and talking with them about appropriate items for school. Please ensure that any weapons or firearms in your home are securely stored and kept completely out of children’s reach. Checking backpacks regularly helps ensure that prohibited items are not brought to school. Together, we can keep dangerous items off our campus and create a safe learning environment for all students.

2. Our BELA Ride Out is this Thursday. This is our last Family Night! Bring your bikes, scooters, motor bikes, electric cars, and hoover boards to ride out one last time. There will be information about your child transitioning to the next grade level.
