FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - The countdown is on — just ONE month until the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 10. Take small steps now to get ready: Adjust sleep schedules a little each week, gather school supplies and organize backpacks, keep learning going with 20 minutes of reading or math each day, mark important school dates on your family calendar, and start practicing morning routines. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for another amazing year!
FUN FRIDAY: DANCE YOUR WAY INTO THE WEEKEND!
Who said drop off had to be boring?!
Last Friday at Bayview Elementary, we turned Friday drop-off into a full-on DANCE PARTY! Our families showed up ready to bring the energy, bust a move, and start the day with BIG smiles!
From fun dance moves to contagious laughter, our morning drop off was filled with JOY, MUSIC, and BAYVIEW SPIRIT!
There was only one rule: DANCE OR NO DROP OFF!
And guess what?! The fun doesn’t stop here! Our Friday Drop-Off Dance Party will happen EVERY FRIDAY! So, Bayview families, get those dancing shoes ready because we can’t wait to see YOU join the fun!
We love creating joyful moments, building relationships, and sending our families off with smiles as they head into their day.

🏫 The 1-mill referendum is a continuation of the millage approved by Duval County voters in 2022. It supports school funding, including teacher pay, as well as arts and athletics.

What a magnificent Monday it was! Can you believe we have started the 4th week of school already! Time flies when you are having fun!
I wanted to share the happenings at the 'View and what to look forward to over the next few weeks:
Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1st- Friday, September 4th- Kindergarten – 2nd grade begin state testing PM 1 for Reading and Math
Monday, September 7th- No School
Tuesday, September 8th- 3rd-5th grade begin state testing PM 1 for Reading
Tuesday, September 15th- 3rd-5th grade begin state testing PM 1 for Math
ALSO, we will be celebrating students who have perfect attendance for the month of September with an Atten”Dance” Glow Party! In order to attend, students must have perfect attendance starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1st – Friday, September 25th!

I wanted to thank you all for the patience and understanding as we work through slight hiccups that the beginning of a school year always has but I can genuinely say that these 1st two weeks have been the best start in my 19 years as an educator!
A few reminders:
-ALL students must have clear or mesh backpacks!
-No students can be dropped off on campus prior to 8:00 AM- there is no staff to monitor for safety
-Attendance is EVERYTHING! Please have students on time- 8:35 AM is tardy
I wanted to share the happenings at the 'View for next week:
Bayview’s School Store “The Brave Zone” will be open for business! Students will be able to spend their ClassBank money that they have earned for their positive behavior over the last two weeks!!
Thursday, August 27th from 6-7 PM- Open House for all grade levels- come out and visit with your students' teachers!
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend and look forward to seeing our Braves for an amazing 3rd week of school!

What a wonderful 1st three days we have had here at the 'View! I know today's dismissal was longer than usual but with the severe weather, we took every precaution to ensure both our students and staffs safety. I appreciate your patience and grace shown as well as the smiles of understanding!
I do need for our families who are car riders for dismissal to remember that Lake Shore Blvd is one lane each way and all cars need to enter our car rider loop from the North, not South. I do understand that the line is very long but I can assure you that it will get quicker- please ensure that for safety that you are not coming from the South to turn left into the loop.

Good afternoon, Bayview Braves!
This is Principal York here ready to welcome all of our Braves back to school for an amazing year!
School hours are from 8 am- 3:00 pm. Please do not drop off students earlier than 8 am each morning-there is no staff on duty outside to monitor for safety.
Parents, you are welcome to walk your students to their classroom on tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday only. Please remember that instruction begins at 8:30 am so ensure that your student arrives prior to this time to not be counted tardy.
Lastly, dismissal will begin early for the first week of school- with students and staff staging for dismissal at 2:20 pm.
Students will not be released to parents coming into the main office after 2:15 pm due to transitioning for dismissal.
2:30 pm- Walkers will be released and siblings of CSS students will transition to their siblings classroom
2:35 pm- general education car rider pick up will begin- *a red car rider decal must be displayed in the car window
2:40 pm- Communication and Social Skill parent walk up begins
2:45-3:00pm- Bus rider dismissal begins
As a reminder, transportation -both buses and car rider pick up tend to be late the first few days of school. Should you need to contact transportation the numbers are:
