Graduation ticket distribution and senior laptop collection will take place on Wednesday, May 20th. This is a required process for all seniors participating in graduation.
On this day, students must turn in:
Their DCPS laptop
The plastic laptop case (fully intact)
Their laptop charger
Please understand that any missing items will result in charges being added to the student account. Current replacement costs are:
Laptop: Over $800
Case: $30
Charger: $20
All items must either be returned or paid for before graduation tickets will be issued. Again, students who have not returned or paid for missing laptop items will not receive graduation tickets.
After turning in their laptop materials, seniors will complete a final student debt check. Even if a student cleared debt in April, this stop is required for all seniors because additional debt may have been added since that time. Any outstanding debt must be paid at that time or the student will not receive graduation tickets.
Seniors will then go to a station where they will verify that they have paid their commencement dues. Commencement dues are $47 and can be paid online through the end of the day on Monday, May 18th. After May 18th, only cash will be accepted to pay for commencement dues. This fee is required for all seniors participating in graduation.
Once all clearance steps are complete, seniors will proceed to the final table to receive their graduation tickets.
Additional Recognition Pick-Up:
Seniors earning the AP Capstone Diploma or completing the AP Honors Program should see Ms. Thomas, Assistant Principal, to pick up cords and/or medallions.
Peer Counseling seniors who completed the Duval Ready Diploma Program should see Mr. Rowan to pick up their medallion.
Students expecting any other honor cords, stoles, or recognition items should contact their club or organization sponsor directly. Please do not contact Ms. Solomon regarding these items, as she is unable to assist with honor item distribution outside of the programs listed above.
If a student is unable to attend on May 20th, a make-up opportunity will be available on Friday, May 22nd, from 9:00 AM–11:00 AM in the media center.
These are the only two opportunities to turn in laptops and receive graduation tickets. Please plan accordingly.
Thank you.
