Stingray Nation Weekly Update Atlantic Coast High School

Hello Stingray Nation!

Reminder for families: there will be no school for students on Monday, April 6th and Tuesday, April 7th. Monday is a Weather Day and Tuesday is a Teacher Planning Day. We look forward to welcoming students back on campus on Wednesday, April 8th!

The next PERT will be offered on Wednesday, April 29th, after school. This will be the final PERT for this school year. PERT is important for students who wish to take dual enrollment classes. It is also one avenue for earning senior leave. Students should check One View for qualification information and a link to a registration sign-up sheet. The sign-up will be open until Thursday, April 23th.

We are excited to invite you to Atlantic Coast High School’s Inaugural Rays on the Run 5K Fun Run on Saturday, April 25th at 8:00 AM! This special event is open to our entire school community, and we encourage students, families, and friends of all ages to come out and join the fun. The race will begin and end on the football field, followed by a post-run celebration for all participants. Registration is available on GoFan, so be sure to sign up in advance to secure your spot!

Here are several important Prom reminders for Juniors and Seniors:

  • The final day to purchase a Prom ticket is Thursday, April 9th, on School Cash Online, and tickets are $85.

  • There will be no physical tickets, so all students and guests must bring a valid photo ID to check in at Prom.

  • The car museum will only be open from 8-9pm during prom.

  • Prom permission slips and outside guest forms were due last week on Thursday, April 2nd. See Ms. Williams in room 212 asap if you missed the deadline.

Each year, the senior class elects a student speaker to give a speech at Senior Celebration on May 26th. If you are a senior interested in having your name placed on the ballot, please review the information sent to your DCPS student email and posted on OneView. The deadline to submit your name for the nomination window is Sunday, April 12th.

Atlantic Coast High School, in partnership with ACHS PTSA and The Society, is proud to sponsor Project 35 – Stingray Global Connection with the Ghana Wisdom Academy, a global community service initiative. This project supports students in Ghana by helping provide student desks and other essential school needs. We are inviting all Stingray students and families to participate. Donations of any amount are appreciated, and students can earn community service hours for their contributions to this project. For our senior families, this project also provides an opportunity for seniors to earn additional graduation tickets. A $10 donation earns 1 additional graduation ticket, a $35 donation earns 2 additional graduation tickets. Note that two is the maximum number of additional tickets that can be earned through Project 35. Donations will be accepted through May 15, 2026 and can be made HERE. Project 35 is more than a fundraiser, it is an opportunity for our students to make a real difference in a global community while demonstrating service, leadership, and compassion. Thank you for supporting Stingray students and helping us make a positive impact beyond our campus.

Don’t forget that senior yard signs are now available for purchase online. When ordering, families can choose to have the yard sign shipped directly to their home or delivered to the school for pickup. If you choose school delivery, more information about pickup will be shared once the signs arrive. Order here: yardsignwizards.com/acs

As always, if you have any feedback or input on our work here at Atlantic Coast please reach out to the school.
