Sept. 2, 2026 - The Duval County School Board voted Tuesday, Sept. 1, to approve new attendance boundaries that will take effect beginning with the 2027-28 school year.

The approved boundaries are part of the district’s planning for two new elementary schools — Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary and Spring Park Elementary — both scheduled to open in August 2027.

What the New Boundaries Mean
The approved attendance boundaries determine which students will attend the new Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary and which students will attend the new Spring Park Elementary.

The changes impact students currently zoned for Love Grove, Englewood and Spring Park elementary schools.

As previously announced, Love Grove and Englewood elementary schools are scheduled to close when the two new schools open in August 2027. Students currently zoned for those schools will attend either Hogan-Spring Glen or Spring Park based on the approved attendance boundaries.

Students currently zoned for Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary will not be impacted by the new boundaries. Those students will automatically be enrolled in the new Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary when the new campus opens.

What Happens Next?
Families whose students are impacted by the approved attendance boundaries will receive additional information from Duval County Public Schools in November confirming the school where their child will be enrolled for the 2027-28 school year.

Families do not need to take any action at this time. Duval County Public Schools will continue to provide information and support as the district prepares for the opening of the two new schools in August 2027.
