The Twin Lakes Academy Green Team is a student-of-service organization of selected fourth graders. These conservation conscious students work to beautify our school campus and its surrounding community. They also educate our school population on how to Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle.  Here are some of the activities and projects that they have been involved in here at Twin Lakes and in the community:

• Adopt-a-Road monthly cleanups

• School campus beautification projects and campus cleanups

• Mini-landscape makeover (won in a district competition) at TLAE

• Flowering plant sales at spring and fall festivals

• Promotion of recycling in our classrooms at TLAE

• Curbside Used Book Drive and Book Swap during Celebrate Literacy Week

• Curbside newspaper drive

• Participation in the Duval County Green Champion of the Year awards every spring (finalists in each category including Honorable Mention, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards)

• Annual field trip to the Republic Services Recycling Center
