Anchored For Life

A peer-to-peer club to connect youth while building change and resiliency skills.

The club provides opportunities for peers to enhance social skills, learn leadership skills, build character, improve self-esteem, and integrate into their community.

Anchored4Life is a peer-to-peer support program designed to help students build resilience, develop leadership skills, and foster meaningful connections within their school community. Through structured activities and guided discussions, students enhance their social-emotional learning, strengthen character, and gain confidence in navigating life’s transitions.

While the program is sponsored by branches of the U.S. military and originally created to support military-connected youth, it is open to all students at Mandarin Oaks Elementary. Anchored4Life promotes inclusivity and encourages participation from a diverse student body.

Students in 5th grade will have the opportunity to apply for leadership roles within the club. Applications and additional information will be available in late August.

Ms. Jaclyn Rhodes

My name is Jaclyn Rhodes, and I proudly serve as a co-advisor for the Anchored4Life Club at Mandarin Oaks Elementary. As a military spouse of 18 years, I have a deep appreciation for the unique experiences and challenges faced by military families. My husband retired from the U.S. Navy in 2022, and throughout his career, our children attended multiple schools across the country—an experience that has shaped my passion for supporting students through transitions.

This is my fourth year teaching at Mandarin Oaks, where I am committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. I am also a proud mother and grandmother. My stepdaughter, Cheyenne, lives in Virginia with her family; my son, Colin, recently began his college journey at Clemson University; and my daughter, Teagan, is currently a sophomore at Mandarin High School. I am looking forward to starting this journey with Anchored4Life to continue to support our youth.
