DCPS Home Education and Private School Students
Registration Information for State Assessments 2026-2027
Please read through all the following information carefully.
Registration:
Students must be registered appropriately with the Duval County Public Schools Home Education Office or be enrolled in a Duval County private school as a PEP student. If enrolled in Home Education, the grade on your registration form must match the grade in Focus.
Private school students and students on an Empowerment Scholarship should be registered for state testing by their private school.
PEP/Step Up for Students can register to take tests, but they can also visit the FLDOE website for additional available tests: https://www.fldoe.org/schools/school-choice/k-12-scholarship-programs/ftc/annual-assessment-requirement.stml
Home Education students are not required to take state assessments.
Home Education Parent Resources: https://www.fldoe.org/schools/school-choice/home-edu/parent-resources.stml
The registration form must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. by the deadlines indicated.
Families will receive an email approximately two weeks prior to the testing window indicating where your child will test, along with the testing date and time. This email will be sent to the email address listed when registering.
Testing Locations:
We provide one main testing location:
Schultz Center, 4019 Boulevard Center Drive, Jacksonville, 32207
We do not schedule Home Education or Private School students for testing at zoned schools.
While at the Testing Location:
At check-in, each student must provide a student ID that includes his/her full name and a recent photograph. Acceptable forms of ID are passports, military IDs, school IDs, state issued IDs, or a completed Assessment Services Student Identification form. You will also receive a link to this form in the State Testing Information email you will receive two weeks prior to the start of the testing window. This email will include your exact testing date, time and location.
Students must adhere to the DCPS dress code while at the testing site.
Parents are not allowed to wait for their student(s) inside any of the testing locations.
Handheld calculators are not permitted, except for students who have this accommodation on their IEP or 504 Plan. Students taking assessments that allow a calculator will use the online calculator provided within the testing platform.
All electronics must be turned off prior to testing or the student's test may be invalidated. Students are not allowed to have cell phones, smartwatches, or any other device that can access the internet while testing.
Scores:
Students, parents, and guardians can access scores through the Family Portal 24-48 hours after a student completes testing. You will need your student's first name, birthday and unique access code to log into the Family Portal. This unique access code can be found in your Parent FOCUS account on the State Tests tab.
B.E.S.T. Writing scores will load into the Family Portal on or before June 30th.
Unique access codes will be sent to private schools by the end of the testing window to the email address provided when registering. Private school students will receive their unique access code from their private school.
Scores will be loaded to FOCUS when the official score file is received from the State. This is usually 4-8 weeks after the testing window ends.
Scores are not provided over the phone or via email from the Testing Office.
Consent to Receive School Health Services Form:
All students testing on Duval County Public School campuses will need to have a completed Emergency Contact Information, Authorization for Release of Student from School and Consent to Receive School Health Services form on file in order to receive any care and/or treatment for illness, injury and/or emergency care.
You will also receive a link to this form in the State Testing Information email you will receive two weeks prior to the start of the testing window.
Please bring the completed consent form with you to check-in. A DCPS employee will collect it and keep it on file. Only one form is needed for each school year and will cover all testing windows for the 2025-2026 school year. Families with multiple children testing will need to complete a form for each child. Do not email any completed forms to the State Testing Office as it contains confidential information and will be deleted.
If you require this form in any language other than English, please email DAT at DAT@duvalschools.org
Please contact the Data and Assessment office at 904-390-2678, or send an email at DAT@duvalschools.org if you have any questions.
