

Meet Our Principal
Dr. Cicely Tyson-White
Dr. Tyson-White is a Jacksonville, Florida native and proud product of Duval County Public Schools, graduating from Samuel W. Wolfson High School in 2004. With a family legacy rooted in education, she followed in their footsteps—beginning her own journey as a passionate educator.
She attended Bethune-Cookman University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in English Education. In 2008, Dr. Tyson-White returned home to Jacksonville and began her career teaching English at her alma mater, Wolfson High School. She has since served as a middle school administrator for 14 years, leading with a strong commitment to student growth, school culture, and academic excellence.
In 2024, Dr. Tyson-White was selected as the founding principal of Chaffee Trail Middle School. She is proud to lead the Chaffee Trail community and is excited about the school’s bright future.
Dr. Tyson-White earned her master's degree in educational leadership from the University of North Florida and her doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Florida. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling with her husband and two sons.
